Not Mother of the Year

"Mom, I stubbed two toes."
"Ya?"
"One on each foot. Now I can't walk."
"Hm, that's too bad. How will you get around?"
"A wheelchair, I guess."
"Well, do you think your feet will ever get better?"
"I don't know."
"Because if not, it will be worth the investment to buy a wheelchair. Otherwise, we can just rent one. How much allowance do you have saved up?"
"I have to buy my own wheelchair?"
"Well, or rent. I'll make some calls today."

No longer in the running for Mother of the Year, but I hear I'm on the short list for Ms. Compassion.

I should be doing laundry.
